Dan's - Steep Falls: Top-Rated Sandwiches & Comfort Food in Maine

I live a few houses down from Dans, and when the previous owner was running his shop, he was very inconsistent and never had anything in stock, food was still good but he wouldn't have basic things like bread. I've been to Dan's at least 3 times a week, probably way more than that since he took over the building. I've probably spent thousands of dollars on food there, and I've never had a bad experience and even if i did Dan is a very friendly person and would make things right to the best of his ability.

Wow, Dan's was phenomenally delicious. The food was made perfectly to each request. The taste was unique and satisfying. The sitting area was clean and even had cards and some games to pass the time. Only if they were closer they'd have a new # customer family coming in frequently! Thanks for such a great lunch and God Bless!

The food, people, and vibe was absolutely phenomenal. Very pleasant business owners who cooked us some of the best sandwiches in Maine. We ordered two steak subs, a BLT, and large onion ring. The steak sub was delicious, with the perfect amount of cheese and mayo. The BLT was great as well; fresh and crisp. The onion rings were the real star in my opinion. They were the perfect consistency and even had a unique taste to them. Almost as if they were beer battered. 10/10, our new favorite spot in Maine.

Stopped by here for a pick me up after traveling from Boston airport to Maine and was not disappointed! The sandwiches are so good - I got the turkey club and it was just perfect, exactly the way a sandwich should be. My brother got the steak and cheese and loved it. They make sandwiches so good on the east coast. Their pizza is also very good. Cute little shop with lots of little treat items, just about everything you could need. Stop by for sure!

Been here probably half a dozen times since they have opened and so far the food has been consistently good. Their burgers and top notch and wings are delicious. My wife says they have the best steak and cheese in town. They're also very friendly, helped me acquire some shredded cheese when I was in a pinch and was about to make a home made pizza.

Dan’s humble exterior belies a solid and satisfying sandwich. My partner and I have taken to stopping at Dan’s on our way home from hikes in the area. Everything is made to order, and nothing is pretentious. Just honest, traditional Maine-style submarines. The prices are fair and the staff are friendly and accommodating. My only wish would be that they had a customer bathroom!

I bought a couple of Italian sandwiches yesterday and I was super impressed. Not only were the ingredients fresh and awesome the bread was fabulous .These were even wrapped like they use to. One wrap that's cut your huge sandwich in half and then they wrap it again so it doesn't leak everywhere. 100% RECOMMEND THIS STORE AND I'M GLAD THAT THE BUILDING DIDN'T STAY UNOCCUPIED. I'VE ALWAYS LOVED THIS LOCATION.
